Flood Of Applicants For Vacant Thousand Oaks City Council Post

Posted on Thursday, March 1, 2012 2:57pm

The City of Thousand Oaks says it received a flood of applications for a vacancy on the Thousand Oaks City Council.

17 people filed paperwork with the city for the post created by the resignation of longtime councilman Dennis Gillette, who stepped down because of health issues.  The City Council decided it would appoint a replacement, rather than spending the money to hold a special election.

The Council is expected to take up the issue of appointing a replacement when it meets Tuesday.
