A long sought document intended to provide development guidelines for a swath of unincorporated land in Southern Santa Barbara County is set to be reviewed today.
The Draft Goleta Valley Community Plan for the Eastern Goleta Valley is set for review by Santa Barbara County Supervisors. The plan covers the unincorporated areas of the Eastern Goleta Valley, between the cities of Santa Barbara, and Goleta.
Under the proposed plan, growth would be allowed to continue under specific guidelines. The number of housing units could grow from the current 10,200 units to just over 12,000. Commercial development could expand from 3.2 million square feet, to 4.46 million square feet.
The plan has already been approved by the Santa Barbara County Planning Commission, and now goes to County Supervisors for a final decision.
