The future of a more than 360 acre park in Ventura County is the focus of a public meeting tonight.
Cal State Channel Islands wants to get ideas from the public for its park, which is northeast of the campus, just off of Lewis Road.
The site is largely undeveloped.
The University says it wants to keep the park open to the public.
It’s currently popular among model plane, and boat enthusiasts, as well as by hikers.
Years ago, when Ventura County owned the land, an outdoor concert amphitheater was proposed for the site, but the university is leaning towards keeping it as undeveloped open space.
The community meeting is from 6:30-8:30 tonight, at Cal State Channel Islands John Spoor Broome Library.
