An Oxnard man has been convicted of second degree murder in the fatal stabbing of another man outside of a restaurant.
Salavador Tena attacked Candido Monge in Febuary of 2010 in the parking lot of a restaurant on the 300 block of Cooper Road, and fled the scene. He was arrested the next day. Monge died several days later.
Tena could have been convicted of first degree murder. Prosecutors say he was intoxicated at the time of the killing, and apologized to investigators, saying he had attacked Monge because the man had offended many people.
The 56 year old man is facing a 16 years to life sentence.
