Ventura County is getting a big check from the state as part of a court judgement in a mortgage fraud case, which will give the County more than $400,000 to beef up efforts to fight mortgage, and foreclosure fraud.
The money comes from the state’s legal battle with Countrywide Financial. The county District Attorney’s office will get $423,000 from the settlement for its work to fight real estate transaction related fraud.
