A Ventura City Councilman is the latest to jump into the race for what will be a wide open Ventura County Supervisorial seat.

Neal Andrews says he’ll run for the First District post.

Andrews has been on the council since 2001.  He’ll face fellow council member Christy Weir, as well as Ventura County Fire Chief Bob Roper for the seat.

The supervisorial seat has been held by Steve Bennett for the last 12 years, but Bennett is leaving office to run for Ventura County’s new 26th District Congressional seat.
