Just released crime statistics for the City of Oxnard show significant drops in violent, and property crimes in 2011.
The stats show that violent crime dropped 10% last year. The number of homicides remained at eight in 2011, the same number as 2010, but violent crimes were down in other categories. Property crimes were down around 13%, with a substantial drop in burglaries.
