Oxnard voters may be asked to go to the ballot box to support a bond measure for new school construction.
The Oxnard School Board directed its staff this week to develop language for a proposed ballot measure this November. With continued growth in students in the district projected for the next few years, officials say a new campus is needed.
School board members haven’t decided how much they will seek. In 2006, voters passed a $64 million dollar bond measure for new construction, and for portable classrooms.
The district has until July to act to get a measure on this November’s ballot.
