Academy Award nominated actress Viola Davis is going to be honored in Santa Barbara tonight, during the first full day of the 27th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
Davis is receiving the Film Festival’s “Outstanding Performer Of The Year” award at the Arlington Theater tonight. Davis was nominated for a “Best Actress” Academy Award for her role in the movie “The Help”. In 2008, she received a “Best Supporting Actress” Academy Award nomination for her role in the movie “Doubt”.
The Festival’s “Applebox” family events this weekend will include a free screening of the movie “Red Dog” tomorrow morning, at the Arlington Theater at 10 a.m….and “Hugo” at the Arlington at 10 a.m. Sunday.
The Festival will feature nearly 200 screenings during its 11 day run.
