Authorities are now identifying a man killed in a fiery head-on crash on Highway 118 in Ventura County, which also left a second person injured.
It happened just before noon yesterday outside of Oxnard, at the intersection of Vineyard and Los Angeles Avenues.
The CHP says a westbound car driven by Zareh Minasyan of Glendale was moving erratically, and it hit a guard rail, and then clipped a westbound truck. The car then skidded into eastbound lanes, where it and an eastbound tanker truck collided. Eyewitnesses say the car appeared as if it was trying to pass other vehicles before the crash.
The 23 year old man was trapped in the vehicle, which burned following the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tanker truck escaped with minor injuries.
