Congressional reaction on the South Coast to the President’s “State Of The Union” address predictably fell along party lines.
Democratic Congresswoman Lois Capps of Santa Barbara praised the President’s call for additional job creation efforts, and lauded the President’s push for both political parties to set aside partisanship to try to address the nation’s economic problems.
Republican Congressman Elton Gallegly of Simi Valley called the President’s ideas a continuation of what the congressman termed failed policies to expand government, and increase taxes.
