Some researchers at California Lutheran University, in Thousand Oaks have received a grant to study the awareness of Oxnard farmerworkers about pesticide dangers, and to help them develop a plan for them to speak up about their concerns
The CLU research team received a two year, $150,000 grant from the California Wellness Foundation. The researchers say they’re basing the project on higher than normal levels of pesticide exposure among farmworkers. They say the project is intended to improve awareness about the concern with farmworkers, and the public, and to help develop public policy to deal with the issue.
