Busy Santa Barbara County Road Facing Closures For Bridge Seismic Retrofitting

Posted on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 2:21pm

A bridge in Santa Barbara County is going to be closed on and off for the next few days for critical seismic retrofitting, prompting the daytime closure of a normally busy road.

San Marcos Road will be closed one-half mile north of Cathedral Oaks Road from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Friday, so earthquake retrofitting can take place on the bridge over Maria Ygnacia Creek.  During the the shutdown, traffic will be diverted onto Cathedral Oaks Road, and Highway 154.
