Ventura City Councilwoman Announces Plans To Run For Ventura County Supervisor

Posted on Monday, January 23, 2012 10:05am

A second well known community leader has announced plans to jump into the fray for a Ventura County Board of Supervisors seat.

Ventura City Councilwoman Christy Weir says she’ll run for the First District Supervisorial seat.

Weir has been a council member since 2003, and is a former teacher, and business administrator.

She’ll be facing Ventura County Fire Chief Bob Roper, who announced last year that he’ll seek the post.

Current First District Supervisor Steve Bennett is leaving the post after a decade, to run for the new 26th District Congressional seat in Ventura County.
