Authorities say two men are in custody this morning in connection with a string of armed robberies in Ventura County, crimes stretching over the last month.
The robberies include a Ventura cell phone store, a pizza parlor, and a man walking his dog in the Marina Park area. During the cell phone robbery, a clerk was repeatedly hit, but suffered only minor injuries. The man walking his dog was pistol whipped during that robbery.
On Saturday morning, police were called a motel on the 1000 block of South Seward, in Ventura by a reports of a domestic disturbance at a motel. Police found 21 year old Spencer Irish there, and discovered the Ventura man was a parolee with multiple weapons, ammunition, and evidence linking him to the robberies. Further investigation led to a second arrest for the crimes yesterday, with the man identified as Brent Theriault of Ventura.
