Ventura Police now say that toxicology results show that a young woman killed in a December 30th traffic accident was driving under the influence at the time.
Julia Rivas of Ventura was driving east on Ventura Boulevard when she veered into oncoming traffic near San Pedro Street, and hit a pickup truck.
The 19 year old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the woman’s blood alcohol level was .19, which is more than double the legal limit.
The driver of the pickup truck which was hit escaped from the crash with minor injuries.
