Sentencing Postponed For Ventura County Attorney Who Pled No Contest To Embezzling From Estate

Posted on Friday, January 6, 2012 10:08am

Sentencing of a Ventura County attorney who pled no contest to charges he embezzled money from the estate of a man he represented has been postponed at his request.

Simi Valley attorney Russell Takasugi was supposed to be sentenced yesterday, but he wanted more time to review new charges filed against him, alleging he embezzled from the estate of another client.

The additional counts include charges of grand theft, and forgery.

Takasugi had contended in the first case that he wasn’t stealing the money, but was just loaning himself some of it.

The sentencing was postponed until early February.
