U.C. Santa Barbara’s Department Of Earth Science has received a more than half million dollar grant in the form of advanced software, which can be used for seismic research.
The $553,000 award from Seismic Micro-Technology will allow 3D mapping, and modeling of subsurface sedimentary deposits. The software makes research possible, and also helps provide a training tool for students who want to pursue careers in oil exploration.
