A Santa Ynez Valley businessman who lost a 2008 supervisorial race in Santa Barbara County, and then unsuccessfully challenged the results in court has announced his intentions to run again.
Steve Pappas says he will challenge Doreen Farr for the Third District Supervisorial seat, which includes Solvang, the Santa Ynez Valley, and Isla Vista.
Pappas lost the election to Farr by more than 800 votes in 2008, but challenged the validity of thousands of votes from the Isla Vista area, alleging voter fraud.
County Elections officials rejected the claim, as did a Superior Court judge, and the Secretary of State.
Meanwhile, a Solvang Planning Commissioner, Aaron Peterson, who had been exploring a run for the seat says he’s decided won’t run.
