Authorities have now identified the apparent victim of a homicide in Oxnard.
Oxnard Police say they received a phone call just after 5 p.m. Saturday reporting that there was a body on the 1300 block of West Cedar Street. Officers arrived to find a body of a dead 25 year old man inside of a garage, who was later identifed as Isaac Mejia.
Detectives questioned 31 year old Hugo Chavez, who was in the home. They say they were able to determine Chavez was responsible for the killing, and arrested him for murder.
