A 24 year old man is facing burglary, and arson charges, after police say he broke into a downtown Ventura restaurant under construction, and tried to set it on fire.
It happened around 3:30 Saturday morning, at the Top Hat Restaurant, on the 2000 block of East Main Street. Police responding to a 911 call found some shattered windows, and smoke coming from the building. Firefighters were able to put out the blaze before it spread.
A few minutes later, police responding to a call of a disturbance a few block away found Dylan Brown of Ventura. They say Brown had evidence which linked him to the crime, and he was arrested.
