Biotech giant Amgen has announced the retirement of two of its top executives, including the Ventura County based company’s CEO.

Kevin Sharer will step down at the end of next year, wrapping up two decades with the company.

Current Chief Operation Officer Robert Bradway will take over the post next spring, with Sharer remaining chairman of the board of directors until the end of next year.

Also retiring next year is the company’s Vice President of Research and Development, Robert Perlmutter.  Sean Harper will take over that post.
