An Army soldier from Santa Barbara County has been killed in Afghanistan.
Sergeant Christopher Muniz died on Sunday, as the result of an improvised explosive device blast in the Kunar province. He was a member of the 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, based in Hawaii. The 24 year old man’s hometown was the northeastern Santa Barbara County community of New Cuyama.
