A decorated Army sergeant from Ventura County is now being identified as one of three soldiers killed by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan last weekend.
Sergeant First Class Clark Corley was fatally injured in last Saturday’s attack in the Wardak province of Afghanistan.
The 35 year old man from Oxnard was attached to the Second Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, based in Fort Bliss, Texas.
Corley had been in the Army since 1995, and received more than a dozen military honors, serving around the world in Iraq, Korea, and Afghanistan.
He’s survived by his wife, and a child.
