The City of Goleta has a new mayor.
City Councilman Ed Easton was chosen by fellow council members to be mayor for the next year.
Easton has been on the council since 2008, and earlier served as chairman of the city’s very first planning commission.
Councilman Roger Aceves will serve as mayor pro tempore.
