A Santa Barbara County Grand Jury has indicted two women for last spring’s murder of a man in Isla Vista, leading to their arrests.
Vincent Velasquez was stabbed to death during a violent confrontation on the 66 hundred block of Abrego Road early on the morning of May 15th.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Benjamin Vargas for the killing.
Now, investigators have arrested his sister, and another woman for what they say was the duo’s involvement in the murder.
Karen Medina, identified by authorities as the killer’s girlfriend, is accused of also attacking Velasquez during the fight. Maria Vargas, the sister of the accused killer, is charged with driving a getaway vehicle.
The Grand Jury indicted the two women for being accessories to homicide.
