The latest unemployment figures for the South Coast show unemployment taking a substantial drop in Ventura County, and a slight rise in Santa Barbara County.
Ventura County dropped from a 10.1 percent unemployment rate in September, to 9.8 percent in October. Santa Barbara County rose just slightly, from 8.5 percent in September, to 8.6 percent in October.
Statewide, unemployment showed a slight month to month decrease. it went from 11.9 percent in September, to 11.7 percent in October.
