An 81-year-old woman has been found guilty of misdemeanor voluntary manslaughter in connection with a traffic accident which killed a Santa Paula grandmother, and seriously injured two grandchildren.
Lois Guynn was convicted of the August, 2009 accident on Harvard Street in Santa Paula.
65-year-old Emily Ortega was crossing the street with her grandchildren when Guynn ran into the trio.
Because there was no criminal intent, the charge was a misdemeanor.
The Ventura woman faces two years probation, suspension of her license, and she must pay restitution to the family.
