A man involved in a domestic dispute call which led to a wild chase, and shootout with law enforcement officers in Ventura County has recovered enough from his gunshot wounds that he’s been released from a hospital, and booked into the county jail.
Augustin Medina of Oxnard was the focus of the October 24th incident, which spanned three cities.
It started in Oxnard, but investigators say after a chase developed, Medina and officers were exchanging shots on Highway 33, and on the 101 Freeway.
The 46 year old man was stuck by gunfire as the chase ended in the Marina Village area of Port Hueneme, where he was arrested.
Two bystanders suffered minor injuries when they were hit by flying glass.
Medina is facing two counts of domestic violence, with more charges stemming from the chase, and shootout expected.
