A surveillance video which showed a burglar in Simi Valley had a limp led to an arrest by alert police.
On Saturday morning, officers were called to a cell phone store on the 1900 block of Hubbard Street, where someone had broken a window, and stolen a backpack full of merchandise.
Officers reviewing the surveillance tape noticed the burglar had a limp.
About three hours later, one of the same officers who responded to the burglary call noticed a man with a limp walking along Erringer Road, near Los Angeles Avenue.
The man, Michael Cahill of Simi Valley, has a prosthetic leg.
After questioning the 46-year-old man, police say they received enough information to find a backpack hidden nearby with the stolen merchandise.
Cahill was arrested on a burglary charge.
