National Forest Service officials say there’s been enough rain to officially declare an end to the brush, and forest fire season in the Los Padres National Forest.
The end of the season tomorrow (11/15) means that campfires, and charcoal barbeques can be used again in all areas of the forest.
A permit is still required to build a campfire outside of designated campgrounds.
Some restrictions still remain in effect, including a requirement for spark arrestors on all off-road vehicles, chainsaws, and other items with internal combustion engines.
A permit is also required for all welding, grinding, and cutting in the forest.
The forest made it though this year’s fire season without any major brushfires in the Ventura/Santa Barbara County region.
