Santa Barbara County’s multi-jurisdictional program to fight driving under the influence has received funding to continue for another year.
The County’s “Avoid The 12″ campaign is getting a $153,000, one year grant for 2012 from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, through the California Office Of Traffic Safety.
The campaign includes educational efforts, and cooperation between agencies which means that during peak periods, like St. Patrick’s Day, agencies will combine resources to beef up patrols in known problem areas.
