An Oxnard man police say was driving with a blood alcohol content nearly three times the legal limit is facing multiple charges, after he was involved in four separate traffic accidents in a ten minute period.
It happened just before 5 p.m. yesterday, near Rose Avenue and Gonzales Road.
Police called to the scene found three separate accidents, and witnesses pointed out a vehicle fleeing the scene.
There was a short chase, which ended when the hood of the vehicle being pursued flew up, blocking the driver’s view. It crashed into a van near the intersection of Auto Center Drive, and Paseo Mercado.
45-year-old Servando Mendez was treated for minor injuries at a hospital, and then arrested on DUI, evading a police officer, and three hit and run charges.
No one was seriously injured.
