Ventura County Closes Books On Marijuana Eradication Season With Biggest Bust In County History

Posted on Monday, October 17, 2011 3:42pm

Ventura County’s marijuana eradication season has ended with the biggest raid in the county’s history, netting a record 68,000 plants.

More than 40 officers from different agencies took part in the harvest in the Pine Mountain area, which is in the Los Padres National Forest, north of Ojai.

Over the course of the season, law enforcement agencies in the county seized some 153,000 plants.  That’s up by about 27,000 plants from last year’s record haul.  They made 22 arrests, with more than a third of the total arrests coming last month.
