The Carpinteria-Summerland Fire District is getting a nearly $100,000 grant to buy new safety gear for firefighters. The district is getting the grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance To Firefighters Program.
The money will be use to buy wildland firefighting gear, specialized protective gear, and barriers to help traumatic injury victims.
