It may not feel like Election Day, but voters in the City of Santa Barbara can now cast their ballots for this November’s City Council election.
Ten candidates are in the running for three Santa Barbara City Council seats which are up for grabs.
Incumbents Dale Francisco and Michael Kathleen Self are seeking re-election, and Randy Rowse, who was appointed to fill a vacancy, is seeking his first full elected term.
The field of challengers includes former City Councilwoman Iya Falcone, community service worker Cruzito Cruz, non-profit executive Sharon Byrne, management consultant Deborah Schwartz, community volunteer Sebastian Aldana Junior, educator and journalist Cathy Murillo, and massage practioner Gerald Matteo.
The election is entirely vote by mail, and there will be no polling places for this election.
People can register to vote until October 24th, with the deadline for the city clerk’s office to receive the cast ballots November 8th.
