A Ventura County man is dead, and the driver of the car he was riding in has been arrested on a vehicular manslaughter charge.
Ventura Police say a car being driven by Nicholas Gaeta of Santa Paula was eastbound on Thompson Boulevard, near Catalina Street just after 11:30 Saturday night when he slammed into a parked truck. A passenger in the car, Sergio Juarez Junior of Santa Paula, suffered massive head injuries. The 24 year old man died later at a local hospital.
Police say they arrested Gaeta at the scene, after he showed signs of intoxication.
