Ventura, Santa Barbara County Arts Groups Get More Than Two Million Dollars In Grants

Seven local arts groups in Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties are receiving major grants from a statewide foundation.

The James Irvine Foundation is presenting the groups with more than two million dollars in support.  Recipients in Ventura County include the Museum Of Ventura County, the Rubicon Theater, and the Ojai Music Festival.  In Santa Barbara County, the State Street Ballet, Opera Santa Barbara, the Santa Barbara Symphony, and the Contemporary Arts Forum are getting grants.

The funding ranges from $225,000 to $350,000, and is intended to broaden the groups audiences, and improve the financial stability of the organizations.
