A nationwide sweep of undocumented people in the United States, with a focus on those with criminal records has led to 35 arrests in Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties.
26 of the arrests were in Ventura County, and nine in Santa Barbara County.
The sweep was conducted by U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officers, in conjunction with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
More than 2900 people were arrested in the nationwide effort, which is called one the largest operation ever of its type.
More than 1600 of those arrested for deportation have felony convictions.
