A community meeting is scheduled for Friday night to discuss plans for a proposed development on land the Chumash tribe purchased from actor Fess Parker, near San Marcos Pass, east of Highway 246. The site is known as “Camp 4″.
Tribe officials say their plan calls for housing and open space. Opponents of the project fear another casino could be built in the area.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:00 pm Friday in the Sambala Showroom of the Chumash Casino.
