San Bernardino County Man Accused Of Foreclosure Fraud Which Cost Oxnard Woman Her Home

Posted on Friday, September 9, 2011 3:44pm

Ventura County prosecutors say a San Bernardino County man has been arrested on grand theft, and burglary charges because they say he offered to save an Oxnard woman’s home from foreclosure, but instead stole the money.

Juan Alvarado Cervantes of Fontana was arrested by Fontana Police, at the direction of the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.

The say the 49-year-old man told the woman he was part of a foreclosure rescue business.  Investigators say he told her he could save her home from foreclosure, then collected thousands of dollars from her, but did nothing, leading to the loss of the home.  If convicted, he could face more than six years in state prison.
