Governor Jerry Brown signed into law legislation which will allow a merged Santa Barbara Elementary, and High School District to continue to collect existing, and future parcel taxes.
The merged district needed special legislation to legally insure the flow of funding to continue. AB 504, authored by Democratic Assemblyman Das Williams of Santa Barbara, cleared the potential roadblock to the newly unified Santa Barbara School District.
