An 18 day campaign to target driving under the influence in Santa Barbara County led to an even 200 arrests, up slightly from the same period in 2010.
The “Avoid The 12″ Campaign involved 12 different law enforcement agencies in Santa Barbara County, ranging from the C-H-P, to Santa Barbara Police. The number of arrests climbed from 189 to 200 year to year. There were 49 arrests by the combined task force during the Labor Day Holiday weekend.
One DUI related fatality was reported during the crackdown period.
