Authorities say a brushfire burning in a remote area of the Los Padres National Forest in Santa Barbara County is now 70% contained.  The 700 acre Figueroa blaze is burning in some rugged canyon areas north of the Sisquoc River area, near Tunnel Ranch.

The fire was first discovered around 1 p.m. on Saturday (9/3).  More than 325 firefighters, along with air tankers and helicoters have been battling the blaze.  Firefighters have been dealing with heavy brush, and limited access on rugged dirt roads.  No structures are reported to be in danger.

There’s no word on the cause of the fire.
