Authorities have ten people in custody after a 25-foot long boat was discovered on the beach at Leo Carillo State Park, near the Ventura-Los Angeles County line, which was presumably used to smuggle people from Mexico into the United States.
The boat was discovered Friday morning (8/26). About four hours later, park rangers arrested ten people, including eight men and two women, at a nearby campground area. They were dehydrated, but otherwise okay. Authorities are still looking for an additional four people also believed to have been on the boat. All of the people in custody are Mexican nationals.
