Former First Lady Nancy Reagan had a close call Tuesday night (8/23) at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, when she stumbled, and almost fell during an appearance at a public lecture.
The 90 year old former First Lady was walking into an auditorium on the arm of Florida Senator Mario Rubio, when she stumbled. Rubio caught her before she fell to the floor, and several other people stepped up to help.
Library spokeswoman Melissa Giller says Reagan tripped on a post used for crowd control.
Reagan was at the library to listen to Rubio, who had come at her invitation for a public lecture. During his visit, the Florida Senator said that he wouldn’t be a part of a Republican presidential ticket in 2012 as a vice-presidential candidate.
