Final arguments could take place Wednesday afternoon (8/24) in the trial of a Ventura County teenager accused of shooting to death a classmate, in what prosecutors call a hate crime.
The defense team for Brandon McInerney wrapped up Monday (8/22), and prosecutors finished their rebuttal Tuesday (8/23) in the trial of the 17 year old who’s accused of the Feburary, 2008 slaying of Larry King.
Prosecutors have tried to show that McInerney killed King because of white supremacist beliefs. The defense team argued that King, who had told friends he was gay, had been sexually harassing McInerney, and that it was the real reason behind the shooting.
McInerney’s attorneys admit that the teen killed King. He’s being tried as an adult.
