A number of service changes, as well as the second phase of a rate increase are set to take place for a transit system in Ventura County this coming weekend.

Gold Coast Transit will add a new route from Nyland Acreas to St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Riverpark, and the Esplanade.  New service will also be added in the mornings from the Oxnard Transit Center to the Seagate Industrial Park.  Changes will also be made to improve service on several other routes.

And, as the second part of a two-tiered rate increase, the base fare will go from $1.35, to $1.50 starting Sunday.

Gold Coast serves much of Western Ventura County with a fleet of 54 busses.
