An autopsy is pending on an inmate found dead in his cell, at the main Santa Barbara County Jail. in Goleta.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department officials say deputies noticed something was wrong with Juan Rodriguez Zepeda just after 3:30 Friday afternoon. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. Jail officials say it appears there was no foul play involved.
The 29-year-old Lompoc man had been in jail since March. He had been arrested on DUI, and vehicular manslaughter charges for a head on crash on Highway 154 which killed one person, and injured two others.
