A Ventura County based animal rescue group which specializes in helping abandoned greyhounds has received a $25,000 grant of pet food, and supplies from a pet store company.
The Homestretch Greyhound Rescue And Adoption is getting the gift from Chicago-based Kriser’s. The local group won the supplies as a result of a contest called “Christmas In July”, with the winners selected by people voting for what they felt were the most deserving groups.
Homestretch is is an all volunteer non-profit group which helps rescue, and find homes for abandoned racing greyhounds, and has helped more than 170 dogs during its history. Kriser’s sells natural pet food, and environmentally friendly pet supplies, with two stores in Southern California.
